Welcome to the Goldrush Run Club

Dear Scottsdale running community, taproom regulars, and friends:

We brew beer. You run miles. It was only a matter of time before we combined the two.

After spending years pouring pints and watching you finish your evening jogs at our Scottsdale taproom, we decided it was time to officially bring the miles in-house. Today, we’re thrilled to introduce The Goldrush Run Club.

Why Goldrush? Because whether it’s the runner’s high out on the pavement or the first sip of a cold beer back at the taproom, we’re all chasing that rush. Our ethos is simple: Chasing the High. Securing the Gold. We believe in heavy sweating, slow paces, building community, and chasing the gold (beer) at the end of every run. We don't care if you run a 6-minute mile or a 16-minute mile, as long as we end up at the same taproom afterward, you're on the team.

We are kicking things off right here at Goldwater Brewing Co. Scottsdale as our home base every first and third Tuesday of each month at 6:32 PM. But as our family grows, so will the run club. In the near future, you can expect Goldrush chapters launching at our Longbow and Crossings locations, giving you a chance to mix up your routes and tap lists each week.

Expect quarterly “field trips,” exclusive merch for logging your miles, and a community of slightly sweaty, entirely welcoming craft beer lovers.

See you on the pavement.

The Rundown:

Wait, I’m slow. Like, really slow. Can I still run with you? Are you the kind of person that enjoys a cold brew after an evening run? Then you fit right in. Goldrush is all about the community, not the podium. We embrace the slow miles, the party pace joggers, and the walk-run crew. We have a strict "No Runner Left Behind" policy, complete with designated stops for the group to catch up to ensure everyone makes it back to the taproom together.

How many miles are we actually running here? We adapt to the crowd, but we generally split into a few different squads so everyone can find their rhythm.

  • If you're looking to push it, our High Mileage crew tackles 5+ miles at a steady 9:00-9:30 average pace.

  • Our Low Mileage crew crushes a solid 3 miles at around a 10:00-11:30 pace.

  • And if you are firmly in the "Party Pace" or walk-run camp (12:00+ pace), we’ve got a group for you too.

No matter what group you pick, they all lead back to the same cold beer.

Where and when are these runs happening? We are kicking off Phase One at our original home base, Goldwater Brewing Co. Scottsdale. We’ve mapped out a few different solid routes that all start and end right at our front doors. Our Scottsdale Taproom is located in Old Town at 3608 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale AZ. The runs are held every first and third Tuesday of every month and kick off at 6:32 PM.

What about the other Goldwater locations? Once our Scottsdale chapter is dialed in and humming, we’ll be rolling out Goldrush chapters at our other locations. Eventually, we’ll host "Field Trip" runs where the chapters converge at different taprooms and eventually even collaborate with other local clubs and breweries.

Does it cost anything to join the club? Absolutely not. The miles are free. The high fives are free. The liquid gold waiting for you at the finish line will cost you, but no sweat, runners get discounted $6 full pours on any Goldwater beer post-run. Just show up, run, and you qualify for the discount.

Is there merch? You know it! Eventually, we are rolling out a milestone punch card system. The more you run with the club, the more exclusive Goldrush gear you unlock. Some of this merchandise will be for sale of course, but other exclusive items, you’ll literally have to earn with your sweat.

I’m usually starving after I run. Will there be food? Yup! We know you can’t survive on liquid gold alone (though some of you will probably try). We’ve got rotating food trucks scheduled to pair with your post-run pints, and get those calories back into your system. Check out the weekly lineup to see who’s bringing the grub ahead of time at goldwaterbrewing.com/scottsdale-happenings.

Will it still be the same fun and welcoming Goldwater Brewing Co. vibe? Hell yeah it will be. Every run day will be business as usual at the taproom with the same crew pouring your favorite brews behind the bar, we’re just wearing slightly shorter shorts now. As for your fellow runners, you can expect a community of slightly sweaty, entirely welcoming, and always kind, craft beer lovers.

Where do I get all the updates and news? Give us a follow at @Goldrushrunclub on Instagram and keep an eye on our website for the latest dates/routes/times, merch drops, and field trip announcements. Most importantly, join the Goldrush Run Club group on Strava and brag about your runs. Because let’s be honest, if it isn’t on Strava, did it even happen?
